Class of 2024 this includes YOU!
This educational trust fund was created to memorialize long-time local residents, Hans and Thora Petraborg, in their strong belief in higher education and the future of Aitkin. The main requirement, aside from being an Aitkin High School graduate, is that the interest free loans go to deserving students who might not otherwise be able to pursue higher education without such assistance. Not only can you apply for this loan for your first year of college, but you may also apply for the loan in future years. (you just have to remember to apply each year)
To apply: fill out the Hans and Thora Petraborg Educational Trust Fund Loan Application and State of Borrower Responsibility form:

Return to: Aitkin Public Schools, District Office, 306 2nd Street NW, Aitkin, MN 56431 no later than July 11, 2024.

Honor Cords/National Honor Society Tassels:
Honor cords and gold tassels will be handed out at the ceremony practice.
Criteria for receiving these items:
Gold Honor Cord - Graduating with Highest Honors (GPA > 3.74999)
Silver Honor Cord - Graduating with Honors (GPA between 3.5-3.74999)
Gold Tassel - Member of the National Honor Society
Honor cords and gold tassels will be handed out at the ceremony practice.

GRAD BLAST INFO
GRAD BLAST is a celebration held immediately after the graduation ceremony. It was started many years ago as a safe alternative for peers to celebrate their graduation. Over the years individual and community sponsors have donated thousands of dollars to help offset the costs of this event'
